Golden Arrows reform after 20 years for County and Ceili Dance Night Ollie Fahy Fundraiser at Loughrea Hotel
Loughrea Band of the 1980’s and 1990’s The Golden Arrows are making a comeback for one last time 20 twenty years after they last struck a note together. The Golden Arrows band members from 1991 to 1998 included Josie Moran (Fiddle), Ollie Moran (Keyboard and vocals) , Francie O’Loughlin (Drummer & Vocals) and Ollie Fahy (Accordion) are set to take to the stage for a night of re-union in the Loughrea Hotel & Spa on Saturday February 3rd at 9pm. They will be supported by Tailors Twist, Class Act, Keystrings and several members from other bands in the area and also members from Kilnadeema Comhaltas for what promises to be a night of entertainment, dance and celebration of the bands past.
The concert is being organised in aid of Gorta Africa Projects. On April 2nd, 2018, Ollie will be part of a group of 12 to travel to Zambia as part of a 10 day trip with the Alan Kerins African Projects. In just over a decade, Galway sports star Alan Kerins and his volunteers have raised close to €5 million to end poverty and suffering of tens of thousands of people in rural Southern Africa. The projects Ollie will be involved in are all based on the Gorta Self Help projects based in Zambia and all aiming to alleviate poverty and developing self sustaining projects.
All the proceeds of from the Concert in the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa on February 3rd will be going towards supporting the children in the Cheshire Children’s Home in Zambia.
