Rams FC Bring Home The Lillis Cup
They left the town on Sunday full of hope. They came home that night champions. For the players, team, and management of Loughrea Rams FC, Sunday, May 28th, 2014 was one special day.
Family, friends, and supporters gathered in there numbers to cheer the lads to victory over West Coast Utd in the Lillis Cup final at Eamonn Deacy Park, Terryland, Galway. Kickoff at 7.30pm on a glourous afternoon in Galway, the Loughrea side blew West Coast Untd away with an early lead, Darren Creaven scored for Loughrea within the first 10 minutes.
All the hard work played off as a Gary Madden header from a Gavin Shaughnessy free kick pushed the Loughrea side ahead 2-0. The Loughrea men have been consistently impressive in their cup outings to date, including a semi-final 3-0 win over Medtronic on May 13th.
