Swan Lake is theme for Loughrea St Patrick’s Day Parade 2017
Bust out your finest green T-shirts and accessories: it’s time to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2017 in Loughrea. This year, St. Patrick’s Day falls on Friday, March 17, 2017.
Organisers have revealed details of this year’s parade, including a new route. The parade starts at 1pm from Barrack Street, on Friday, March 17, and finishes on Station Road, via Westbridge, Dunkellin Street and the viewing stand on Main Street. Following feedback from the public, the new route hopes to maximum visibility for a greater number of spectators.
This year there are prizes for:
1. The Best Shop Window “Swan Lake”
2. The Best group demonstrating the theme this year “Swan Lake”
3. The Best Individual
4. The Most Entertaining
5. The Best Fancy Dress (Individual or Group to include the “Swan Lake” theme)
The prize winners will be announced at an after party in the Temperance Hall, Barrack Street. Residents and visitors are invited for refreshments and music at Temperance Hall, from 2pm to 4pm.
