Loughrea Icebreakers Christmas Day Swim 2025

The Galway Camogie All‑Ireland champions took time out of their busy schedules at the beginning of December to officially launch the Loughrea Icebreakers Christmas Day Swim 2025 at the shores of Loughrea Lake.

The much‑loved annual swim raises vital funds for CASA Loughrea, a voluntary organisation that hosts regular social outings and inclusive activities for people with disabilities in the local community. Every euro raised on Christmas morning goes directly towards supporting these programmes throughout the coming year.

Participants are invited to ‘take a running jump’ into the clear waters of Loughrea Lake at 11.30am on Christmas morning at the Long Point, where you will brave the cold, embrace the fun, and support a wonderful cause. Sponsorship cards are available in Loughrea Library, and online fundraising is also open at www.idonate.ie/event/LoughreaIcebreakersChristmasDaySwim2025.

Organised in partnership with Loughrea Lions Club, the event has become a great community tradition, bringing people together, celebrating generosity, and making a meaningful difference to those who benefit from CASA Loughrea’s activities. It’s a great community occasion with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and all are encouraged to get involved.
