Loughrea to Face St Thomas in Senior Hurling Championship Final
Neighbours Loughrea and St Thomas are set to clash in the Forvis Mazars Galway GAA Senior Hurling Championship Final on Saturday, 1st November at 6pm, following a thrilling semi-final weekend at Pearse Stadium.
In the opening semi-final, St Thomas overcame a spirited Craughwell side. Despite a competitive first half, with St Thomas leading 1-10 to 0-9 at the break, St Thomas’ pushed on in the second half, scoring three goals to seal a commanding 4-18 to 0-19 win.
The second semi-final saw Loughrea edge out Turloughmore in a tightly contested encounter. A crucial goal helped Loughrea secure a 1-17 to 0-15 victory, booking their place in the county final and setting the stage for a much-anticipated showdown with their local rivals.
It’s been a remarkable period for Loughrea Hurling Club, with the U20, Junior E, and Junior A teams all competing in county finals, and now the senior squad preparing for their biggest game of the year.
