Martin Dolan Expert Electrical 30‑year milestone

Thirty years ago, Martin Dolan opened the doors of Dolan Electrical Supplies on Main Street, Loughrea. A proud Bullaun man, Martin brought with him 25 years of experience in the electrical trade, from CT Electric in Newtownsmith, Galway, to Coughlan Brothers on Main Street, Loughrea, and Garvey’s of New Inn. Over those decades he built a reputation for knowledge and expertise that was often described as second to none.

The Galway City Tribune noted on 8 December 1995 that within just one week of opening, it was clear the business had filled a real need in the town, judging by the brisk trade Martin was already experiencing.

At the time, Martin said, “I have been working in this business all my life and it was only natural that I should set up on my own at some stage. I felt that an electrical business was needed in Loughrea and hopefully it will go well.”
