Moran wins Wild Atlantic International Box Cup

Loughrea Boxing Club’s Jack Moran triumphed at the inaugural Wild Atlantic International Box Cup, a new tournament hosted and organised by Ballina Boxing Club and held at Ballina Sports Centre from September 5th to 7th. Jack produced an excellent performance to defeat Colin Burgoyne of Sparticus BC, Tullamore, on a unanimous decision and claim the Senior Novice 75kg title. It was also a proud occasion for the club, with newly qualified coach Ryan Dervan in Jack’s corner throughout the tournament.

Beginners Classes
Beginner boxing classes will start on Tuesday, 9th September. The programme runs for six weekly one-hour sessions, giving participants the chance to see if boxing training is the right fit for them. To register your interest, text your name and contact details to 085 174 1684, and full information on classes, registration, and requirements will be sent to you. Male and female participants are welcome, but you must be 11 years or older, and the programme is strictly for those with no previous boxing experience. Places are limited, and the beginners’ class is already close to full, so early booking is advised.

Returning Boxers
Training for last year’s boxers resumes on Monday, 8th September for the new season. These classes are currently full, but spaces may become available if previous members do not return.
