Strong Loughrea A.C. turnout at this year’s festive Athenry 10K

Loughrea A.C.’s Ben Naughton ran a very impressive 37:36 in the Fields of Athenry 10K Road Race earlier today, St. Stephen’s Day. He was followed by fellow Junior club member Colin Haugh, who finished in 38:49.

The club was well represented, with Mike Kerrins, Darragh Darcy, Serena Murphy, Denise Barrett, Stephen Hanrahan, Sabrina O’Regan, Joseph Clancy, Fergal Leahy, Michelle Haugh, Bernie Quinn, Sinéad Mitchell, Meabhdh Foudy, Edel Herlihy, and Aishling Hanrahan all embracing the frosty but dry morning.

Craughwell A.C.’s Jamie Fallon won the men’s race again this year in 30:34, while Ava Crean, the Irish Life Dublin Marathon National Champion, won the women’s race , and looks to have set a new National U20 10K record, in a time of 33:40.
