A Century of Rugby: Loughrea RFC Recreates Historic 1925 Clash with Ballinasloe

Loughrea Rugby Football Club is set to commemorate a remarkable milestone this weekend with a recreation of its inaugural match from 1925. The centenary fixture will see Loughrea face Ballinasloe once again, echoing the historic first encounter between the two sides.

The celebratory match takes place on Saturday, 15 November, with kick-off at 2 p.m. at the Loughrea hurling grounds (side pitch). This grand exhibition promises to be a fitting tribute to 100 years of rugby in Loughrea, honouring the club’s proud legacy.

Following the match, supporters and players are invited to gather for food and refreshments at Loughrea RFC, Ballygasty, Loughrea, Co. Galway (Eircode: H62 AP03).
