Planning Refused for Loughrea Paddle Sports Facility

Plans to build a new paddle sports facility in Loughrea have been turned down.

The proposed development was to be located about 1km east of the town, as part of the existing Loughrea Driving Range. The project, led by LGR Concepts, included two paddle courts and a small reception space.

However, Galway County Council refused permission. Planners said they were concerned that the local roads in the area would not be able to handle the extra traffic the facility would bring.
