Cafe announces Loughrea closure

Roots Cafe & Bistro has announced the closure of its Loughrea café (at Unit 5, Loughrea Shopping Centre).

Earlier today, the company posted the following statement on its Facebook page:

“Today is a day we never wanted to come… After so much thought, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close our cafés in Tuam, Kilcolgan and Loughrea.”

The statement continued:

“This isn’t how we imagined this chapter would end. Like so many small businesses, we’ve felt the weight of rising costs, changing habits and the challenges that have become part of everyday life.”

Roots Cafe & Bistro also confirmed that its cafés in Oranmore and Claregalway, along with its Shop Street café bar and catering company, will remain open.
