Road Closure Announced Ahead of Loughrea Triathlon Festival

A temporary road closure and diversion route will be in place to facilitate the Loughrea Triathlon Festival on Sunday, 2 August.

The event will take place at Long Point, Loughrea Lake, from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

The following roads will be temporarily closed from 10:00am to 5:00pm:

From Barrack Street/Cross Street along the Lake Road, past the nursing home, to Earlspark Junction.
The road from Earlspark Junction to Kilnadeema Cross.

Diversion routes will be clearly signposted.

Access to and from homes will be maintained, although some delays may occur while competitors are using the roads. Please note that the Long Point area will be closed for the duration of the event, and there will be no through traffic.
