In an inspiring display of strength and community, the Loughrea Lake Dippers are marking their first anniversary of chilly Friday dips at Loughrea Lake! Cheers resonate as this diverse group of women reflects on a year filled with invigorating moments.

In what feels like the blink of an eye, the Lake Dippers have forged a strong bond through their weekly plunges into the cold waters of Loughrea Lake.. Undeterred by the elements, these resilient women have turned Friday dips into a spirited tradition.

Weekly Gathering: Every Friday at 9:30 AM, the Lake Dippers assemble at the first pier, Long Point, Loughrea. The invitation extends far and wide, welcoming all, regardless of swimming prowess. Many participants openly admit they don’t/can’t swim, emphasizing the inclusive and warm nature of the group.

For those considering joining, a cozy hat, swim gloves, and booties are recommended – though not obligatory. Warm clothing for the post-dip gathering is a must.

The festivities continue with a post-dip ritual involving a warm cuppa (provided), and indulging in friendly conversation. It’s a heartwarming conclusion to a refreshing morning by the lake.
