Loughrea Medieval Festival 2023 events announced

Check out the Loughrea Medieval Festival brochure with lots of free events taking place throughout Friday 25th – Sunday 27th August.

A weekend of free events includes music through the ages concert with music and dance, heritage walks, children’s activities, craft demos and workshops, launch of children’s medieval Loughrea bilingual workbook, short films, and lots more.

This event is organised by Loughrea Medieval Festival Committee and the Heritage Council of Galway County Council [Galway County Heritage Office] It is funded by the The Heritage Council, and Gaeilge Locha Riach and supported by Loughrea Library.

From Medieval to Modern… Music for all ages

Friday, 25 August, 7pm-9pm, at Loughrea Hotel & Spa – FREE EVENT

Join us for an unforgettable celebration of music and dance! Immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies from different eras while witnessing the breath-taking skills of world-class Irish Dancers. Be captivated by a mesmerizing fusion of traditional and contemporary music performed by the very talented Carmel Dempsey, Mike Stewart, Brenda Curtin (ex Lord of the Dance Show) and Joe Higgins with special Guests Padraig Connaughton and Ali Fleming. Prepare to be amazed by the dexterity, grace and precision of World champions Evan O’Brien and Owen Gaughan from the Hession School Galway who will enchant you with their intricate footwork. Food and refreshments will be served after this event. Spot prizes for the Best Dressed Mediveal Lord & Lady.
